I’m Erin, a 24 year old girl with a passion for writing and stories. I am currently a student at Eastern Washington University, studying to get a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. I live in Cheney, WA with my husband Brian and my new puppy Flash.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. The first “book” I can remember working on as a very young child was a little, stapled together stack of lined paper with a drawing of a snowman on the front.
Since then, I’ve grown a lot in my writing. In 2011, I started and completed my first draft of Caladrius Dreams. Then, after several years of putting it away, I came back to produce a fully completed novel.
I have always loved stories — both reading them, and telling them. After attending the University of Montana for two years as a wildlife biology major, I finally decided that story telling was my greatest passion. I dropped out of the University of Montana to take some time to decide what I truly wanted to do with my life. It wasn’t long before I decided I wanted to be a writer.
I am passionate about writing because I think that stories have the power to inspire, and teach. They also have the amazing capacity to take us on a journey to a place we would never be able to reach on our own. When I write, my words no longer feel like letters on a page to me. They feel real. The piece takes on a life of its own. My characters become friends that I know and love dearly. It would feel like such a shame if no one ever got to know their story like I do.
Lately, my life has been filled with writing, and I couldn’t be happier. Along with working on my novel, Caladrius Dreams, I have also been writing articles for my University’s newspaper and working on a blog to which I post at least once per week.
